The Beginnings, New Entertainment Plans and Special Offers :

We moved to spain in september 2004

We had been coming to La Manga Club for our holidays since 1994, but quite often we just used to drive off the club to eat, this is how we stumbled on Los Belones!

Fell in love with Los Belones immediately, loved the cobbled pavements and the authentic spanish feel the village had, it was the only holiday we never wanted to go home from.

After coming back from holiday in 2003 I was sat in my house in Manchester, the rain beating on the window as usual ! I started looking on the Internet for houses or businesses for sale in Los Belones, looking back now I'm not really sure how serious I was at the time!

Within 8 months we had sold our house and bought ´El Boliche´ which is now Potters Bar ! We spent 3 months doing the bar up and getting ready for our grand opening, we were both very nervous as neither of us had ever even worked in a bar before let alone run one!The opening night went off with a bang! People were kind and tolerent (thank god!) I think I poured 100 pints before I got it right! but we made some great friends!

The past four years have been a massive learning curve and at times its been far from easy, three children, a bar and a language barrier required plenty of juggling! But we got there in the end and now have three bilingual children and a much better understanding of the bar world

Potters Bar has a large local following of friendly people we would love to see new faces too and make more friends, we have recently decorated and feel we offer an attractive friendly place for people to meet

Knowing the present situation with the economy we understand that people havn't got much money, which is why we have put some amazing not to be missed offers! for the month of Feb Mon to Fri we have 3 for 2 on all drinks sat and sundays we have mahou at 1 euro, every Friday and Sat night we have karaoke with karen from 10 pm so come on down and relax with friendly people and be entertained whilst taking advantage of our great drink offers, therefore spending less money!

POTTERS BAR GOES BANKRUPT WITH FEBRUARY’S FANTASTIC 3 FOR 2 OFFER!

After the success of the offers and entertainment in February we have decided to continue with cut price drinks through the month of March

We have had 3 fantastic weeks with karaoke which has bought lots of new faces into the bar as well many familiar faces. The atmosphere has been amazing and friendly and it’s been wonderful to see people having so much fun and letting their hair down and also a chance to get dressed up.

We are also very proud to say that in such a short time we have already raised 5 days worth of treatment for the Richard Horner cancer appeal. The word has spread and now other businesses and people in the local area are keen to raise money for the same appeal. Over the next week we will be changing the bar into a more appropriate layout to accommodate an entertainment venue and not just a bar. Along with a large stage and a larger dance floor we will also be upping the stakes as far as entertainment is concerned. Quiz evening will now be starting on Friday the 6th March at 8.30, followed by Karaoke with Karen til late, for those that can’t enjoy the night on Saturdays.

The new venue as it will stand will be perfect for the hire of private parties with the new stage and dance area, please enquire for more information.

We are proving very popular at weekends for Football and Rugby,the atmosphere has been buzzing especially as the Mahou is only 1€

So whether it be day or night, mid week or weekend, sports, great atmosphere, entertainment or a quiet drink, Potters is the place to be!
